INTERMEDIA
Harmonic Laboratory fuses art, science, and the humanities; one way in which the group breaks boundaries is through its use of media. Intermedia, originally coined by Fluxus artist Dick Higgins to describe various inter-disciplinary art activities, helps describe what we do—the production of art experiences through the immersion of various disciplines, media, and technologies. Intermedia covers the breadth of the things we create: custom software to track human bodies in space, 3D digital projections, new musical instruments, collaborative art experiences. All of these intermedia methods help push our ideas forward and in the process, help define our work.
