Authoring Mozart

Authoring Mozart uses text and data analysis on literary classics and turns the structure of authoritative writing into the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. By running entire books into custom software that analyzes vocabulary, sentence structure, tone and duration, a type of literary score is generated. By using music theory to locate analogous techniques of musical analysis, it is possible to “listen to Franz Kafka or Jane Austen” through the compositional elements of Mozart’s Sonata No. 16 in C major.
